How The Technology Works
The fabric is engineered with a unique variety of fibers that when structured in a designed way create a series of high-density capillary networks where the water molecules are absorbed deep into the fabric core and hydraulically compressed into the voids within the fabric. This void within the fibers creates an orientation of the water molecules in such a way that when the product is activated (snapped) it allows for maximum evaporative cooling to take place. At the same time, because of the uniqueness of the combination of different fibers and their reaction to one another, the suppression of water loss by evaporation (High Absorption and Wicking simultaneously) suspends the water within the fibers for an extended period of time.
This COOL COMFORT TECHNOLOGY is the Next New Generation of High performance fabrics. The fabric is comfortable and pliable and is engineered to create a prolonged personal cooling effect. To activate the COOL COMFORT TECHNOLOGY fabric simply SOAK IT in water - WRING OUT excess water - SNAP IT to activate. To reactive simply RESNAP or repeat the 3 steps of activation. It is REUSABLE over and over by simply repeating the activation instructions.
Comparision to Present Cooling Aids
ICE can be uncomfortably cold or harmful when placed directly against the skin. Water is relatively heavy and requires temperatures below 32 degrees fahrenheit in order to solidify. Once frozen, ice is rigid, collects condensation and only lasts a short period of time. It then turns to water which becomes uncomfortable and/or ineffective. All Natural.
Commonly called PCMs (PHASE CHANGE MATERIALS) release long lasting, temperature specific, cooling that can be used in a variety of applications. Usually PCM is placed inside a material (e.g. a fiber or a plastic) creating inserts in a variety of configurations. Similar to ice, the PCM "melts" to a liquid state as it absorbs heat but at a cooling temperature comfortablely above that of freezing water. This insures that the user does not get frostbite. PCM can be recharged in ice water or other cool fluids. Inserts recharge in approximately 30 minutes and last about another 3 hours. To date, the inserts required in phase change cooling materials are BULKY, VERY DIFFICULT TO WEAR, and JUST PLAIN UNCOMFORTABLE.
